MOZART
For May 28th: Mozart Research Project: Create a project on one of the topics in List of Topics – there are a few links included on p. 2 to start you off on your research. You can make a powerpoint, create a photo album, draw, timeline, write a paragraph, write a monologue and record it…
Late Mozart – a Playlist of some of his grandest works
General information: please look around this website and read the biography. Find some interesting facts. Listen to several pieces.
EARLY MOZART: his first compositions, his first symphony, first concertos, his first opera – Here’s a YouTube playlist
Listen to the selection, and be ready to share your impressions on Thursday April 30th. How old was Mozart when he wrote each piece? Who was his teacher? Where did he perform? What would you have done if you were his parents? His sister? Can you imagine his life? Where was he living? What did he have to go through each day?
Here is a Mozart website – read about his childhood, travels and early years as a performer
In Search Of Mozart is a wonderful documentary/history about Mozart and his life and music – it is available on Amazon Prime video, and probably elsewhere as well.
For May 7th:
Here is a YouTube Playlist about the Magic Flute: you will find the Overture, an excerpt from a Marionette Theatre production (I LOVE this!), the famous Queen of Night aria (2 versions), a GoPro movie from Papageno at the SF Opera, and if you’re feeling up for it, the Complete Opera (I’m not expecting you to watch the whole thing…)
